Unleashing opportunities for EU Trade and Investment in Nepal

The EU-Nepal Business Forum 2023 aims to showcase business, trade, investment, and FDI opportunities in Nepal, provide a platform for Government to Government (G2G), Government to Business (G2B) and Business to Business (B2B) dialogues, and networking opportunities to promote trade and investment between Nepal and the EU. The forum also aims to raise awareness of the various trading arrangements between the EU and Nepal and explore/discuss policy and legal measures that can be undertaken to facilitate investment.

OBJECTIVES

Objective #1
Showcase business, trade, investment, and FDI opportunities in Nepal.

Provide information on key investment sectors where Nepal has comparative and competitive advantages, and to explore/discuss policy and legal measures that can be undertaken to facilitate investment.

Provide platform for G2G and B2B dialogues and networking opportunities to promote trade and investment between Nepal and the EU

Raise awareness on the various trading arrangements between the EU and Nepal.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

The Business Forum is expected to strengthen the economic ties between EU and Nepal at both the government and private sector levels and assist towards enhancing mutual confidence and trust for trade and investment partnerships. The expected results are:

  • Strengthened business, trade, and investment relations between the EU and Nepal.
  • Enhanced knowledge and information sharing between EU and Nepali businesses on EU trading schemes available, market entry requirements, the Nepali market and the overall business environment.

BUSINESS FORUM STRUCTURE

Day 1
08 May 2023

An opening session addressed by top policymakers in the EU and Nepal, followed with panel discussions on matters related to trade and investment, including the policy and legal environment, market analysis and specific sectors identified as priorities for trade and investment.

Day 2
09 May 2023

Day 2 sessions will focus on sectoral trade and investment areas. Nepal Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS) is the basis for product selection, which reflects Nepal’s priority sectors with comparative advantage.

  • Energy/Hydropower
